Want to catch the famous Mount Batur sunrise without the long uphill hike? This motorcross “taxi” experience is a great option if you're not keen on trekking but still want to reach the summit. You'll ride as a passenger on the back of a motorbike, driven by an experienced local rider. The bike takes you about 90% of the way up the volcano — no hiking in the dark, just a fun off-road ride through lava fields and rocky trails.

From the drop-off point, it’s just a short 10-minute walk to the actual summit at 1717m. Once there, you’ll be treated to an unforgettable sunrise with panoramic views of Lake Batur, Mount Agung, and on clear days, even Mount Rinjani in Lombok. A simple breakfast and warm drinks will be served at the top while you relax and take in the views.

After sunrise, hop back on the motorcross for the ride down — no need to walk down the mountain either. This is a great option for families, beginners, or anyone who wants a more laid-back way to see one of Bali’s most iconic sights without missing out on the summit experience.

Tour Itinerary

• 2:45 – 4:30 AM: Pick-up from your hotel (exact time depends on location)
• 5:15 AM: Hop on the back of a motorcross for an off-road ride up the volcano (around 90% of the way)
• 5:30 AM: Start a short 10-minute uphill walk to the summit (1717m)
• 5:40 AM: Reach the summit just before sunrise and enjoy stunning panoramic views
• 6:00 AM: Light breakfast and warm drinks served at the top
• 7:00 AM: Begin descent with the motorcross ride back down
