You’ll be driven up to around 1,560 metres by Jeep, then hike the final stretch on foot — about 45 minutes of walking to reach the 1,717-metre summit. It’s a relatively short trek, but it can be steep and rocky in places, so sturdy shoes and a moderate fitness level are recommended. Once at the top, you’ll catch one of Bali’s most iconic sunrises, with sweeping views of the caldera, Lake Batur, and Mount Agung in the distance.
